I'm excited to announce that my blog is back—with a new name and a fresh focus!
Originally called The Artful Buddhist, my blog is now Aspie Art Journey.
I started making an illustrated memoir about my life as an Aspie artist and decided I needed a new space to share my progress.
So, here I am.
Living my dream.
Making art.
Writing.
Thinking.
Whether you’re an artist yourself or simply curious about the connection between creativity and neurodivergence, I hope my experiences will inspire and support you.
In addition to sharing my artmaking process, I’ll explore Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome more deeply than previously.
If you’re autistic, suspect you might be, or support someone who is, this space is for you. I’ll be sharing personal stories, practical strategies, and encouragement to help you navigate a world that often feels overwhelming.
I’m not a psychologist or a physician, and I don’t provide medical advice.
What I share is based on my own observations, research, and experiences as an Aspie artist.
Dissidence, pictured above, shows some of my artistic tendencies: precision and control, yet also meandering and sometimes on the verge of chaos.
On Tuesdays, I will be sharing posts on topics like:
✔️ How autism influences my art and creative process
✔️ Life as a professional visual artist
✔️ Book reviews about Asperger’s and Autism
✔️ Resources for Aspies and others on the Autism Spectrum
✔️ Leaving academia to follow my dreams
✔️ Art as a spiritual practice?
If you’re new here, welcome!
If you’ve been following my journey, I’m thankful to have you back.
Subscribe and join the conversation—I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
Let’s make this a space for learning, support, and growth.
Stay tuned for new posts soon!
